The country is going through the lockdown phase 4.0 and the government of India has given some relaxations in non-containment areas.
Following the announcement yesterday, Amazon India has started accepting orders for all items including non-essential items.
It is to be noted that the delivery of non-essential items is not available in containment zones. If your place is in the containment zone then orders will be restricted to only essential items.
Amazon India also accepts ‘Pay on Delivery’ in some locations outside the containment zone.
A few weeks ago, Amazon and Flipkart planned to accept orders for Smartphones but later after some time, it was canceled due to orders from authorities.
For people in containment zones, Pay on Delivery options will not be available, For them, prepaid payment should be made in advance.
As the government has made some relaxations to the lockdown, chances are Flipkart will also soon start accepting orders for non-essential items. At the time of writing this article, they have not started yet.
It is definitely going to be a good news for all people who are looking forward to buy non-essential stuff like smartphones or gadgets. It’s for sure that there are thousands of people in the country who are locked in their homes and can’t items like this. So these people will definitely get benefited from this move.
People in containment zones are left with no option other than essential goods. If you want to order any sort of essential items then you could place the order via the app itself. Also do note that people in the containment zone will have to make prepaid payments to avoid interaction with the delivery agent.
