Amazon has finally resumed pantry services in India and started accepting new orders for groceries and other needful household items. As of now, the service will be made available only to a few selected cities in India.
Amazon and it’s related services halted their operations soon after the 21 days lockdown was announced in India. It was difficult for them to operate during the ongoing crisis. Not just Amazon, an online retail giant, Flipkart had also ceased its service last month for unstipulated time period.
Amazon officials have announced they are resuming their activities and prioritize deliveries of the existing orders and the delivery of new orders may get delayed. It could take as many as 7 – 10 days due to the lockdown still existing in the country.
As of now the services are available only on selected few cities in India. These cities includes Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Chandigarh, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mohali, Mumbai, Mysuru, Nagpur, New Delhi, Noida, Panjim, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam. Not every part of the city is serviceable. Only selected PIN of these cities are actually available. You can use the Amazon App to see if your place is listed and available for upcoming deliveries.
Zomato had already started a grocery delivery service in Delhi, Kerala, and Punjab earlier this week. Zomato only delivers essential household items like Rice, flour, veggies, and other daily essentials. After the lockdown is finished, Zomato might introduce this grocery delivery service as a part of their services as well.
People who are running low on grocery items in these selected cities can open the Amazon app and place orders for themselves. The delivery might be delayed but hopefully your delivery gets fulfilled for sure.
