We have been hearing lots of news that OnePlus is working on an affordable smartphone. First, it was rumoured to be named as OnePlus 8 Lite and then OnePlus Z. But now the company has confirmed and the name will be OnePlus Nord.
OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau confirmed it in the first part of a four-episode documentary series on IGTV. He also confirmed that this smartphone will be the company’s latest offering to be priced under $500. The last OnePlus device that came with a price tag below $500 was the OnePlus 5T.
In the first episode of the documentary, we got to see a quick look at the front and back design of OnePlus Nord. The same premium OnePlus build quality could be seen here as well.
To the front, the smartphone features a dual-curved display with a dual selfie camera housed in a punch-hole cutout to the top left corner of the screen. To the bottom of the phone comes the charging port and SIM card slot.
From the video, we could also see that to the back, it features a triple camera setup. The design might be a little different from the final version of OnePlus Nord.
OnePlus Nord Price and Rumored Specs
The CEO has officially confirmed that OnePlus Nord will be priced under $500. We don’t have a clear picture of the pricing yet, but one thing is for sure that the pricing will be below $500. Well, it can be even $499 or $449.
Rumored specifications of the OnePlus Nord include a 90Hz AMOLED Display with curved edges to both sides. Under the hood, the phone might be powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC. So the chances are it might be 5G enabled. Up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage is also expected.
