Customers Could Now Buy Custom Configured Macbook and iMac in India

Customers can now buy custom configured macs in India

One thing that was missing on the Apple website India for years was the ability to buy custom hardware configured Mac devices. Finally, Apple is adding an option to purchase custom-configured Macbooks, iMacs and even Mac minis,

In other countries like the US and UK, customers are given an option to customize their Mac configuration according to their needs. If a person wants a computer with 32GB RAM and then he/she could easily add it via the Apple website and order it. But that’s not the case in India.

In India, customers are only presented with a few pre-built Macbooks and iMacs and there is no option to add extra RAM or storage.

Furthermore, even now Apple is not having its own store in India.

The option for hardware customization in India was first spotted by TechCrunch and lets users pick the processor, RAM, Storage, Graphics, etc.

As Apple is not having its own store in India, users will have to pick the device from nearby Apple authorized stores. As per the reports, the prebuilt Mac will be delivered in about 4 to 5 weeks.

Reports also suggest that the cost of adding extra components will be on the higher side. Customers might want to pay as many as $400 just to upgrade from 16GB to 32GB RAM. That’s like you are paying the price of a fully-fledged laptop for just 16GB of RAM. Normally it would only cost less than Rs. 10,000 for a 16GB RAM.

If you are looking to buy a custom configured MacBook then you might want to keep an eye on the price as it might be too expensive.

You can visit the Apple India website’s Mac section to find the new option and order custom hardware configured devices.
