Ever since the launch of Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in 2016, Always On Display got popular. It was first seen in these two smartphones from Samsung. Later, many other manufacturers like Google, Huawei, Xiaomi, and many others joined the league and introduced Always On Display on their lineup of smartphones.
OnePlus didn’t the joined the club yet but soon will get Always On Display on OnePlus smartphones as well. The majority of OnePlus smartphone users are waiting to get this feature and finally, the wait is almost over. OnePlus is a brand that listens to its customers and improves or add features according to their opinion. OnePlus users wanted this Always On Display feature for some time now and it’s finally coming.
Here’s the tweet from the official OnePlus Twitter handle:

If you not already know, Always On Display aka AOD Mode keeps your display always turned turn showing only important info like Date and Time, Important notifications, Battery status, Signal strength, etc. You can also further customize this according to your taste. Only the required parts of the screen will be lighted. Only phones with AMOLED displays can have this feature. In AMOLED, we can light up individual pixels only and this way we can have the AOD mode and the same time battery consumption won’t be at the higher side.
As per the new pieces of information, OnePlus will soon get this feature on their devices. It is still unclear whether they are about to include this feature from their upcoming OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphone or as an update to existing devices including OnePlus 7 series and OnePlus 6 series. It is still not clear if OnePlus 5 series will get the update as the last update for these devices is based on Android 10
Surely this will be a piece of surprising news for all OnePlus smartphone users out there.
