Update [19 April 2020] – As per the new regulations, the authorities decided not to deliver anything other than essential household items and medicines. So you can no longer place orders again until the restriction is removed
India had been going through a complete nationwide lockdown for the last one month. After the announcement of lockdown, only essential household items and medicines were available to buy online. This was restricted to curb the spread of Coronavirus. Now, Flipkart has started accepting orders for smartphones. Several users started getting a new push notification on their mobile app, including me.
If you want to order a smartphone from Flipkart, you can go ahead and do that but the delivery of the products will only start from the 20th of April, Monday. The option to order smartphones are available both on Flipkart’s website and mobile app for Android and iOS. As of now, the services are not made available in Karnataka and West Bengal where some sort of crucial restriction still applies. Users all across India except Karnataka and West Bengal could place the order.
Smartphones from all popular brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Samsung, Realme, etc are up for sale again. Flipkart is also offering complete mobile protection, no-cost EMI, buyback guarantee, etc. Delivery vehicles of all delivery companies should get permission from authorities before starting the delivery.
As of now, Amazon hasn’t started the delivery yet. Considering the current lockdown situations, the estimated delivery time for the purchased products will be late. I tried adding a smartphone to my cart and I was able to see that the delivery time frame was a little longer than usual.
Upon opening the Flipkart Mobile App or website, you will be presented with a larger banner telling that the orders for smartphones have restarted. You could go ahead and place the order right away.
