How To Convert .exe To .msi With Emco Package Builder

Files with .exe format extension are known as executable files and files with .msi extension are known as Package installer which is only for Microsoft Windows.

Another reason for writing this Article, One day I was wanted to edit Bluestacks software with Orca program in order to make blue stacks run on a computer with less than 1GB of RAM or no Graphics Card.In this situation the blue stacks installer file that I had was an executable .exe file, and if I want to edit it with ORCA I wanted to convert it to the .msi installer.Then the very next moment itself I found an idea and now sharing that idea with you.

Configure the  requirements given before getting into the tutorial:
Download the Software Emco Package Builder from the link given below
                           Download Emco Package Builder Now!
And also, make your .exe executable file ready for conversion.

How To Convert .exe To .msi?

Step 1: First Download the software mentioned above.
Step 2: Install Emco Package Builder and Open it.

Step 3: Once opened, Click on the Monitor Installation option.

Step 4: Now select Automatic Monitoring from the window appeared.

Step 5: Click Next and again Next.
Step 6: Now click on the Browse option and Browse your .exe executable file.

Step 7: On the pop-up appeared, Just click OK(Nothing to fill).

Step 8: Specify a project name and Click Next.

Step 9: On this windows(Screenshot below) configure the following listed below:

  • MSI Path: Browse and select a location where your MSI file is wanted to save.
  • Product Name: Specify a product name.
  • Manufacturer: Specify the Manufacturer name.
  • Language: Leave Default.
  • Version: Specify a version  (.01 or 1.5 or 3.2 etc).
Step 10: To start the repackaging process, simply click on the Finish button.
Step 11: Once the setup progress is complete, You can see the fresh new .msi Installation file in the location you provided.

Everything Done. Now you have converted your executable .exe file to a .msi Microsoft windows package installer.

Now you can edit your .msi file with any open source softwares like Orca
