Initially, when Facebook-owned Instagram first launched Reels, users could only create a video of up to 15 seconds long in terms of duration and basic editing features. The video recording length limit on TikTok was 1 minute. Instagram finally realized 15 seconds is too short and doubled the limit. After the new update rolls out, Instagram Reels users will be able to record videos of up to 30 seconds duration. Still, it’s just half of what TikTok offers.

Apart from the extended video recording limit, Reels also get a number of other features as well. The extended Timer option is yet another update. Users could only set a timer of up to 3 seconds as of now, With the new update, the new timer limit will become 10 seconds, giving more time for creators to be ready for the recording.

Reels also gets some really great editing options as well. It will be easier and seamless for people to edit videos by adding music, filters, and finally publish the videos itself.

Earlier, Instagram added a dedicated Reels tab on accounts of people who use it. This made it easier for people to access and watch Reels videos of people who regularly post new videos.

Instagram announced all these exciting features coming to Reels on Twitter earlier today.
