Intel has launched its 10th Gen CPU lineup aimed at Gaming, Content Creation and Workstation laptops. The new models are based on the 14nm ‘Comet Lake’ architecture and the top end version features as many as 8 cores and 16 threads. The new architecture fits into Intel Core i5, i7 and i9 series of processors.
This architecture will be for those who want the highest single-threaded as well as multi-threaded performance in a laptop. The top-end version Core i9-10980HK model comes with 8 cores and 16 threads with a max clock frequency of 5.3GHz. Apart from the Core i9-10980HK, there are three other variants with turbo speeds of 5GHz+.
Intel Core i9-10980HK 8 core processor features a 16MB cache and is fully overclockable and unlocked. And in fact, it is the only version in the lineup that is fully unlocked and overclockable, too. Just beneath this model lies the Core i7 -10872H model which is specifically targetted for content creators and creative professionals as well as gaming.
Intel Core i7-10850 and Core i7-10750H both, both come with 6 cores and 12 threads and with 12MB cache as well. In the i5 series, we have Core i5-10400H and Core i5-10300H with 4 cores and 8 threads with 8MB cache memory.
As per Intel, they have worked with multiple laptop manufacturers to increase the performance, battery life, and usability with the 10th gen lineup of CPUs. Furthermore, a performance boost of up to 54 percent is expected when compared with a three-year-old laptop, gaming at high settings.
The new lineup includes 6 models of processors and all of them have 45W TDP ratings which can be mixed and matched as per the requirements by Manufactures. All the CPUs of this Gen supports up to 128GB of DDR4 2993 RAM in dual channels.
