Earlier, PM of India, Narendra Modi announced a nationwide lockdown for the next 21 days. All people are strictly advised to stay in the home and only medical facilities, ATMs and essential grocery stores are permitted to stay open. The lockdown is for the next 21 days and lasts till the 14th of April.

Following the announcement, lots of minor and major companies have closed their factories, offices, etc. All the essential services will be made available.

Earlier today, Online retail giant, Flipkart announced they are ceasing the operations throughout the lockdown period. Amazon also announced that it will only deliver items that are of critical importance.

Now, Foxconn and Wistron, Companies that manufacture older models of iPhone including iPhone XR and iPhone SE in India to encourage domestic supply has also announced they are halting their production due to the Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown. As reported by Bloomberg, this decision by Wistron and Foxconn is to support the latest government orders.

Apart from iPhone XR and iPhone SE, Wistron and Foxconn also manufacture devices for Xiaomi as well. The production of Xiaomi phones will also be halted due to the same reason.

Following the pandemic, many events and scheduled programs were canceled earlier. Netflix has also halted all their shooting and film production activities amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. Similarly, companies like LG, vivo, Samsungs have also Shut down their factories a couple of days ago.
