Mi 10 Youth with SD 765G, 5G Support, 50x Digital Zoom Launched in China

In addition to Mi 10 Lite that was launched last month, Xiaomi unveiled the Mi 10 Youth Edition today in China. Comparing both the devices there are minor differences here and there along with some camera improvements.

It is the second 5G enabled smartphone in the mid-segment, to launch in China. The device uses Snapdragon’s X52 modem to add 5G capabilities to the device.

Let’s take a look at the specification and pricing of the device.

Mi 10 You Edition Specifications

The handset comes with a 6.57-inch Full HD+ AMOLED Display with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a waterdrop notch. It is sad to see a waterdrop notch instead of a punch hole, which the current trend. The resolution of the display is 1080 x 2400 with a 20:9 aspect ratio.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, which is the only mid-range chip with 5G support. The device gets Dual mode (SA and NSA) 5G support, all thanks to the X52 modem in SD 765G SoC. It is coupled with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.1 onboard storage.

To the camera side of things, the device sports a quad-camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary camera along with an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view, a macro camera, and a periscope camera as well. To the front, it features a 16-megapixel camera housed in the waterdrop notch.

The periscope camera in the device will let you capture photos at up to 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x digital zoom.

Even though the device was launched alongside MIUI 12, it will only get the update after 2 months. It comes with MIUI 11 on top of Android 10.

Mi 10 Youth Edition gets a 4,160 mAh battery and up to 20W fast-charging via USB Type-C port. The phone also gets a 3.55mm audio jack as well.
