The Unc0ver team has today released Unc0ver 5.0, the latest version which is capable to jailbreak recently launched iPhones with current iOS version 13.5.
Jailbreaking is pretty similar to Rooting Android. By default, there will be several restrictions set by Apple on all iPhones. As per Apple, these restrictions are added so as to improve the security of devices.
Jailbreak software is usually created by utilizing bugs present in the iOS operating system. This will in turn grant root permission for users to get full control over the iPhone.
Usually, Jailbreak software won’t work on the latest version of iOS devices. But this time it is a little different. The new Unc0ver 5.0 will work on the most recent version of iOS with version number 13.5.
Unc0ver 5.0 makes use of a zero-day vulnerability present in the iOS 13.5 which Apple is not aware of.
An Unc0ver team member, Pwn20wnd announced on Twitter about Unc0ver 5.0.
As per the tweet, unc0ver v5.0.0 will be the first 0day jailbreak released since iOS 8!
Most of the time, the jailbreaks won’t usually work on the recent version of iOS because the chances of having a bug are really low. But this time it is entirely different.
As per the team, the new unc0ver 5.0.0 will work on all iOS devices running iOS 11 to iOS 13.5. The team also noted that the jailbreak did not work on iOS versions from 12.3 to 12.3.2 and 12.4.2 and 12.4.5.
Pwn20wnd also added that the new jailbreak is even more secure from the previous versions as it keeps Apple’s iOS security features and options intact.
Experts suggest users not to jailbreak the iPhone as the device might get compromised. It will be easier for hackers and other people to hack your iPhone if it is jailbreaked. Similar is the case with a rooted Android device as well.
unc0ver 5.0.0 can be used from Windows, macOS, Linux, and iOS devices. The jailbreak and detailed instructions are available on their official website.
