In an attempt to increase the userbase of Spotify Premium, the company is now offering free three months premium subscription for first-time users. The new offer will be valid until the 30th of June
The offer will be valid for Premium plans including student, family, and individual. Users who have canceled their premium plans before the 14th of April will be able to sign up for three months for $9.99.
Spotify generated its majority of revenue share from advertising and the company has seen a sharp fall in the revenue in the last couple of weeks. A lot of users have also canceled their existing Spotify Premium plans as well.
In an attempt to get back those customers, Spotify is now providing more value for money and feature-rich plans as well.
As per the recent earnings reports, the company mentions that the ad-supported revenue has seen a decline.
COVID-19 Pandemic is considered as yet another reason why Spotify saw a sudden fall. As per the report, only one in every six people in the US canceled premium plan due to COVID-19 reasons.
Premium users might be forced to unsubscribe the plan as the world is currently going through a financial crisis. Unemployment is one of a few reasons.
By introducing these plans, the company is planning to attract more customers to its platforms and also regain all the premium users who quit the service until April 14th.
The offer will be available on Spotify on all platforms including Android, iOS, and Web.
Furthermore, the company has also introduced a few cheaper plans as well. These plans will be more value for money for users with many more features than usual.
To avail the offer, just head over to the Spotify app or web version and sign up for a new account (new users only)
