OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro were among the few devices to receive the Android 12 Beta. Google has officially announced the same during Google IO 2021 event. Now a lot of users are reporting bricking issues with their OP9 and OP9Pro after installing the beta version of the latest Android 12.
If users tried to install the beta version without unlocking the bootloader, the phone won’t make it to the setup screen. Those devices troubled with this issue can however be fixed by an EDL restore. You can follow the guide by XDA Devs to restore your OnePlus device with EDL restore. It basically restores the factory image using a Qualcomm chipset-level flash.
Addressing the issue, OnePlus soon removed the download links from the community and users could no longer download the beta build for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.
A OnePlus staff said, “I’ve temporarily removed the download links based on the feedback from users in this thread. I’m sharing the feedback with the software team so they can look into it in the morning at HQ”. No updates are known yet.
If you are about to install the beta build on your OnePlus 9 or OnePlus 9 Pro, better wait until a fully stable version of the build without issues is made available.
A lot of companies including Redmi, Realme, etc had released Android 12 beta build for their devices. Some devices from Xiaomi are also facing problems as well. The main issue with OnePlus devices is it either getting bricked or entering into the boot loop.
We should have some solutions for this in a few hours. Better wait for some time before installing the update as it is causing trouble for a lot of users all around the globe.
