OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau has confirmed that the company is working to introduce a new affordable mid-range smartphone so as to reach to a wider audience
Lau says “What we’re seeing is that with current products, there’s still a demand from a large consumer base for a more suitable price that enables more consumers to be able to access OnePlus products. That’s really important insight, and it’s something that we’re taking into very serious consideration”.
As of now, OnePlus is only focusing on the premium flagship segment and soon the company is planning to introduce mid-level smartphones so that the company can reach a wider audience.
He has not confirmed anything regarding the name of the smartphone. So it could be OnePlus 8 Lite, OnePlus Z, or maybe totally a different name too.
OnePlus is also planning to introduce more devices other than Smartphones. The company had already unveiled a Smart TV series and few other accessories as well. In future, as per the company’s vision, they are planning to build an eco-system with a wide range of products in offer.
So, finally, the existence of a mid-range smartphone from OnePlus is confirmed and he has not revealed anything regarding the launch date either. We should get to see the device near in the near future.
