As per some sources on the Internet, Qualcomm might soon launch its own branded gaming smartphone in partnership with Asus. As you might already know, Snapdragon is the most popular and most used SoC on mid-level and flagship Android smartphone. Almost all leading Android flagship smartphone uses Snapdragon chips in it.
Asus is a good renown brand when it comes to gaming smartphones. The ROG smartphone series is one of the top leading Gaming smartphone series in the industry. So, if the rumors are to be believed, the cooperation between these two brands will bring some really awesome gaming smartphones pretty soon.
The Adreno GPU used in Snapdragon phones is really great when it comes to gaming. And Qualcomm is also all set to launch it’s upcoming Snapdragon 675 in December this year as well.
If everything goes as per the sources, this phone from Snapdragon in partnership with Asus will be the first smartphone to come with the upcoming Snapdragon 875. The report was first shared by Digitimes regarding the same. As per the blog post, “Qualcomm reportedly will team up with Asustek Computer to develop and launch its own-brand gaming smartphones at the end of 2020 at the earliest, according to industry sources“
Nothing has been officially revealed by either of these two companies yet. It is expected that the new gaming smartphone will be unveiled during the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020, the virtual event that will take place in the first week of December, later this year.
I am personally super excited to see the new gaming smartphone from Snapdragon for a number of reasons. The number one chipmaker joins hands with leading gaming smartphone manufacture to bring a gaming smartphone. Anyways, let’s wait and see how things go.
