The two latest beta versions of WhatsApp, 2.20.83 and 2.20.84 has been spotted with self-destructive messages option. This feature is quite similar to what we get in Snapchat. Users are given an option to select a time of their choice after which the message will be automatically deleted.
WhatsApp recently rolled out the Dark mode feature globally to all app and now the company is working to bring the self-destructive messages option. GSMArena reports suggest that the feature was found on two new beta versions of the App, 2.20.83 and 2.20.84.
Users can set a stipulated time after which the messages will be vanished both from the sender’s and receiver’s end. The time limit varies anywhere from a single hour to as long as a year. You will have multiple time limit options like one hour, one day, one week and even one year.
At first, the feature will be only made available in WhatsApp Group chats and will be soon introduced to personal chat as well. This feature for groups can be activated by the Grop administrator and once enabled the feature can be enabled or disabled in the contact info section or group settings itself.
Self Destructive messages are among the most anticipated features of WhatsApp after the dark mode. Facebook-owned WhatsApp keeps on introducing new features every now and then to impress it’s users and makes things easier.
Apart from the features of the self-destructive message, WhatsApp is also working on a number of other good features as well. This includes Cross-platform, use WhatsApp in multiple devices simultaneously, etc . UPI based WhatsApp Payments system will also be made live to the public in the near future.
