Windows 10 KB4549951 Update Causing Even More Issues For Users

The latest Windows 10 KB4549951 update causes issues like Blue Screen of Death for a lot of users. This update was already diagnosed with many issues earlier, but the users who updated their computers are receiving more and more serious issues. This update (KB4549951) was rolled out to Windows 10 versions 1909 and 1903. This was supposed to bring some security fixes but the thing went wrong for many people.

Soon after updating their computer, users started getting issues like Blue screen of death, system failure, and people even reported Bluetooth not working.

If you are facing these errors then you are not alone. Lots of people all around the globe are getting this issue. Here are a few error codes that users get. These codes generally appear as a result of damaged installation files driver or compatibility issues with third-party software.

  • CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED
  • ACPI_BIOS_ERROR
  • INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE
  • MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
  • DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
  • Portcls.sys

As Microsoft has not released any fix for this issue it is better to uninstall the new update until a new one is released. You might want to get into Safe mode and fix those changes. To do so, follow the steps below.

Hold the shift key while restarting your computer and it should take you to the boot page. From the menu, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options and then Startup Settings. Click on the Restart button to get into Safe mode.

From Safe mode, head over to Control Panel and find the newly installed update from there. Uninstall it and boot back to the original Windows. Everything will be solved.

Some users are also reporting a file deletion bug. Following the update, the user’s files like Folder, Pictures, Docs, etc were removed. Lots of users are reporting these kinds of problem and one user reported Bluetooth not working after the update.

If you are already facing issues with the new update and then get into Safe mode and uninstall the update or if you haven’t updated yet, don’t update the system until a new update comes in.
